Two men have been arrested in Georgia in connection with the shooting death of an Augusta man last week.

The Illinois State Police and Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of shots fired early last Friday morning at a residence in Augusta.

Police arrived to find 43 year old Christopher Ellington, dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

An investigation led to the arrest of 24 year old Cody Johnson and 24 year old Michael Garcia in Grady County, Georgia.

Hancock County State’s Attorney Rachel Mast says the two have been charged with two counts of first degree murder, home invasion and aggravated discharge of a firearm.

Johnson and Garcia are in custody in Georgia awaiting extradition to Hancock County.
