A Quincy man is sentenced for the shooting death of another Quincy man last year.

In Adams County Circuit Court Thursday, 52 year old Christopher Huckstep is sentenced to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections in the shooting death of 26 year old Emond Morris.

Huckstep had pleaded guilty to first degree murder in June.

Huckstep is alleged to have shot Morris December 4th of 2019 during a domestic dispute at a residence in the 700 block of Cedar.

Huckstep got credit for a little over a year served in the Adams County Jail. He was also ordered to pay $5,500 restitution.

Huckstep will be required to serve 100 percent of his sentence.
