Addie Gets Life Without Parole Plus 10 Years For 2018 Murder

A Mexico, Missouri man will spend the rest of his life in prison for the murder of his fiancé three years ago.

In Cole County Circuit Court Monday, 54 year old James Addie was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of 35 year old Molly Watson of Huntsville on a rural Monroe County road in April of 2018.

A Cole County jury took just two-and-a-half hours in April to find Addie guilty of first degree murder and armed criminal action.

In addition to the life sentence, Addie gets an additional ten years on the armed criminal action charge, with the two sentences to be served consecutively.

Addie is alleged to have killed Watson two days before they were to be married.

Addie and Watson had had a seven year relationship, despite the fact Addie was already married and had been for 23 years, living with his wife and daughter in rural Monroe County.

At the time of his arrest, Addie was a Lieutenant at the Moberly Correctional Center.
