Four are hurt, three seriously and one is ticketed in a car/ATV crash in rural Payson just after 4 p.m. Saturday.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office reports 40 year old Brian Young of Plainville was southbound on an ATV following a farm tractor. Young attempted to make a left turn into a driveway and was struck by a northbound car, driven by 28 year old Brandon Inman of Fowler.

Young was ejected from the ATV. He was airlifted to Blessing Hospital. His two passengers, a juvenile male and a juvenile female, were also taken to Blessing, all for treatment of serious injuries.

Inman suffered minor injuries, but refused treatment at the scene.
Pending lab results, Inman was ticketed for DUI.

 

No one is injured but both drivers are ticketed in a two vehicle crash on Highway 57 north of I-172 in Adams County at 2:15 p.m. Saturday.

The Illinois State Police reports 41 year old Jermaine Harper of Quincy was southbound, attempted to pass a vehicle and collided head-on with a northbound grain truck, driven by 58 year old Joseph Kendrick of Palmyra.

No one was hurt in the crash. Harper was ticketed for driving with a suspended license and improper passing.

Kendrick was cited for failure to secure a child in a child restraint system.

 

Three are hurt, including two juveniles in a two vehicle crash on Veterans Road at West Ely Road west of Hannibal just before 5 p.m. Friday.

The Highway Patrol reports a 17 year old female from Quincy was westbound, failed to yield and was struck by a southbound pickup, driven by 19 year old Adam Baxter of Hannibal.

The juvenile driver and her passenger, a 16 year old female also from Quincy and a passenger in the Baxter truck, 28 year old Jade Lewis of Hannibal, were all taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment. Lewis and the 16 year old suffered minor injuries. The 17 year old’s injuries were described as moderate.

 

A Palmyra man suffers minor injuries in a car-deer crash on Highway 168 east of Palmyra in Marion County at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

The Highway Patrol reports 34 year old James Mendoza was westbound when he struck a deer in the road.

Mendoza was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.
