Eight people are hurt, fortunately none seriously, in five separate weather-related northeast Missouri traffic crashes Thursday.

A Canton woman suffers moderate injuries in a crash involving two SUV’s on Highway 61 south of LaGrange in Lewis County at 9:15 a.m. Thursday.

The Highway Patrol reports 35 year old Sharon Platt of Canton was southbound and turned into the path of a second southbound SUV, driven by 41 year old Christian Gray of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Platt was taken to Blessing Hospital for treatment.

 

Both drivers are injured in a crash involving two pickups on Highway 54 at Pike County Road 30 at 7:49 a.m. Thursday.

The Highway Patrol reports a 16 year old juvenile male from Vandalia was eastbound when his truck skidded on the slick road, crossed the center line and struck a westbound truck, driven by 29 year old Amber Keethler of Bowling Green. Keethler’s truck then ran off the road and struck a ditch.

The juvenile was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital with minor injuries. Keethler was taken to Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana with moderate injuries.

 

A Texas woman escapes with minor injuries in a one-car crash on Highway 36 at Shinn Lane west of Hannibal at 11:45 a.m. Thursday.

The Highway Patrol reports 20 year old Joshua Walker of Chicago was eastbound, lost control of his car on the snow covered road, ran off the road and overturned.

Walker’s passenger, 23 year old Aunjanae Grimes of Houston, Texas, was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment.

 

Three Perry residents, two of them young children, suffer moderate injuries in a pickup crash on Highway 61 south of Highway 54 at 5:10 p.m. Thursday.

The Highway Patrol reports 26 year old Huwemona Griffin of Perry was southbound when she lost control of her truck on the slick road. The pickup ran off the road and overturned down an embankment.

Three of Griffin’s passengers, 27 year old Zera Meyer and a seven year old boy and a six year old girl, all of Perry, were hospitalized with moderate injuries.

 

A teenager from Kansas suffers minor injuries in an SUV crash on Highway 36 west of Shelbina just before 6 p.m. Thursday.

The Highway Patrol reports 44 year old Carlos Polo-Lozano of Kansas City, Kansas was westbound when his SUV ran off the ice covered road and overturned.

Polo-Lozano’s passenger, a 14 year old girl, also from Kansas City, Kansas, was treated and released at the scene.
