Between Aug.19 and August 24, Ralls County added 34 new cases, bringing the total to 105 as of August 24. That is a whopping 48% increase in less than a week. Now the Health Department warns those numbers are likely to explode even more.

"As there were three large gatherings in our county over the weekend, we can anticipate our cases to continue to climb as people are not social distancing or wearing face coverings."

The Health Department says the timing is critical as school is back in session.

The Health Department also says it's very important to be honest if you're notified about contact tracing. Without correct information, people who have been exposed are not aware they need to watch for symptoms and to quarantine.
