Officials learned the exposure came at a conference conducted by The Crossing Church June 18th and 19th.

The announcement was issued to notify individuals who may be at risk due to an exposure.

In accordance with state guidelines, the health department requires everyone who attended the conference and has not been fully vaccinated to quarantine for ten days following the last exposure.

The quarantine started June 20th and ends June 30th if no symptoms present themselves.
Again, vaccinated individuals are not required to quarantine.

Testing is warranted if an individual becomes symptomatic with any COVID-19 like symptoms including fever, cough, shortness of breath, wheezing, chills, body aches, fatigue, change in taste or smell, stomach issues or sore throat.

Drive-thru COVID-19 testing will be available at the Adams County Health Department through July 23, 2021. The testing site is open Monday-Friday from 10am-1pm. The rapid and PCR COVID-19 tests are available at no cost. Rapid antibody tests are also available for an out-of-pocket cost of $10 cash. Individuals wishing to receive a test should enter the health department’s parking lot at the Vermont Street entrance.

As a reminder, it is very important to have as much of our population vaccinated as possible to decrease the chance the virus will continue to spread. The Adams County Health Department will hold Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine clinics at the health department on June 29, July 6, July 13, July 20 and July 27 from 1pm-4pm. The Pfizer vaccine is available for any Illinois resident ages 12 and older and the Johnson and Johnson vaccine is available for any Illinois resident ages 18 and older. These clinics
will be open by appointment only, individuals should call the health department at 217-222-8440 to schedule an appointment. When receiving the Pfizer vaccine, individuals should plan to return at a 3-week interval during the same timeframe to complete the vaccine series. Individuals may also schedule a COVID-19 vaccine appointment by contacting their established medical office.
