I really need to stop spending so much time on the Missouri sub-Reddit page. If I would, I'd be less likely to see something that's both funny and depressing at the same time. It's what people Googled the most during the quarantine and what some Missourians and Illinoisans searched for is pathetic.

This was dropped on Reddit with no link to where it originated. With some sleuthing, I found the original map and story on Zippia. I think it's important to emphasize that these are not the terms searched for the most, but just what they considered fun or interesting. I would like to discuss how I disagree with what they consider "funny" especially based on Missouri. See for yourself.

What's on the McDonald's Value Menu was a curiosity in Illinois frequently and meth recipes for someone likely on a Missouri backroad. It does make sense though that someone in Arkansas is having a craving for Little Debbie cakes though. As for Iowa, stock tank pools are a neat affordable swimming hack. From what I've heard from friends that have lived in Wisconsin and Minnesota, both those results sound right, too.

Fortunately, most of the country has now escaped the quarantine era, but I fear that some of the search results will sadly remain the same. Check out the full original Zippia article for more details on how we spent our time online the past couple of years.
