A Hannibal woman is dead from injuries suffered in a two vehicle crash on Highway 61 at Diamond Boulevard in Hannibal just before 9 a.m. Thursday.

The Highway Patrol reports 78 year old Sylvia Luken was eastbound, failed to yield at the stop light and was struck by a southbound semi, driven by 50 year old John Weyrick of West Burlington, Iowa.

Sylvia Luken was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Coroner Rick Jones.

Her passenger, 50 year old Rhonda Luken, also of Hannibal, was taken first to Hannibal Regional and then transferred to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of moderate injuries.
