Flu season will be here before you know it, and now is the time to get ready. The Adams County Health Department (ACHD) along with the Illinois Department of Health are highly recommending everyone 6 months or older receive a flu shot this year, and the ACHD is making it a easier for the community.

The ACHD will be holding a drive-thru flu clinic at John Wood Community College on Sunday, September 13 from 11 am to 2 pm. Those who wish to take part in this clinic are asked to please enter using the Harrison Street entrance. The ACHD is using this drive-thru flu clinic as practice to help them better prepare for dispensing future COVID-19 vaccinations.

The ACHD will be able to bill most insurance companies, with Medicaid and Medicare also being accepted, just make sure you bring your insurance card when going through the drive-thru clinic. Cost for the vaccine is $30 for the flu vaccine, and $55 for a high dose flu vaccine

The clinic will be available for anyone who wants to get a flu vaccine this year, which again is highly recommended to keep our community safe and to prevent the flu spreading to others.
