As part of Aly’s Project: Youth Feeding the Needy, the United Way announced Tuesday that Mya and Taylor Gottman, both of rural Monroe City, have donated the market goats they showed at the Marion County Fair to the Monroe City Food Pantry.
Aly’s Project was set up last year to allow 4-H and FFA youth who raise livestock to donate their livestock projects to food pantries and senior centers after the fair season.
Lumley Locker in LaBelle also stepped up, donating the processing of the animals.
Additional livestock project donations from other area youth are pending.
