Two Hurt, One Seriously, in Weekend Area Traffic Crashes
A Clayton man suffers serious injuries in a one car crash just south of the junction of Highways 107 and 104 in Pike County at 12:15 p.m. Saturday.
The State Police report 40 year old Christopher Abernathy was northbound on 107 when his car ran off the road, traveled across a field, struck an embankment, became airborne and struck two large trees before coming to rest in a creek.
Abernathy was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The investigation into the crash continues.
A Hannibal man escapes with minor injuries in a one car crash on Marion County Road 422 west of Hannibal at 7:40 p.m. Saturday.
The Highway Patrol reports 36 year old Kelly Murphy was westbound when his car ran off the road, striking the ground, a culvert and a tree before overturning and coming to rest on its wheels.
Murphy was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
