The Illinois State Fair goes all in on Mask Wearing this Year
The Illinois State fair is underway and it is filled with massive concerts, butter sculptures, rides and this year masks too. According to the Illinois State Fair's website they have some strict guidelines and rules for all fair goers to follow while at the fair. They are recommending that anyone who isn't vaccinated, and attending the fair, to wear a mask at all times inside or outside. Now for guests who are vaccinated they are saying...
" Masks are required for all (including vaccinated individuals) in public indoor settings on the fairgrounds, including: Coliseum, Expo Building, Illinois Building, Dairy Building, Livestock Center, Artisans Building, Emmerson Building, Orr Building, Hobbies, Arts & Crafts and the Floriculture/Emmerson Annex."
Now what about for the grandstand events like the stand up comedy shows, and most importantly the concerts for artist like Kane Brown, Chris Young, and Toby Keith well the Illinois State Fair's website says...
"Masks are required for Grandstand ticket holders. Track ticket holders must provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test."
Yes they are saying that if you want to get into the track, with your track ticket, you must show them proof of vaccination, and or a negative COVID-19 test, and that regardless of vaccination status you must wear a mask in the grandstand.
Now my goal is not to start the debate of whether or not they have the right to do this, whether or not they should be doing all these restrictions, but simply to try and inform you fair goers. I specifically on my morning show "Mornings with Mark and Sam" on 97.9 KICK-FM have talked a ton about the concerts and the amazing things scheduled for the Illinois State Fair, the last thing I would want is for one of my listeners to be uniformed to the guidelines and requirements.
