With the most visible part of its fundraising campaign in its final hours, the Salvation Army of Hannibal and Quincy is optimistic about reaching its respective fundraising goals.

In an update issued Wednesday, Salvation Army officials report they are 75 percent of the way to their $104,000 campaign goal in Hannibal, and 80 percent of the way to their $400,000 campaign goal in Quincy.

Officials say that although the red kettle portion of the campaign ends on Christmas Eve, there are several weeks left in their annual effort.

Funds raised at Christmas time provide food baskets and toys for children, along with supporting the Salvation Army’s social service programs throughout the year.

Contributions to the Salvation Army Christmas campaign can be made by cash, check or charge or by stopping by the Family Store in the Steamboat Bend Shopping Center in Hannibal or the offices in Quincy. You can also donate by texting “DONATHANNIBAL” or “DONATEQUINCY” to 24365.
