Illinois has absolutely crushed it with their lineup for the 2021 Illinois State Fair Grandstand lineup, according to their website they have Kane Brown on Friday, August 13th, Toby Keith headlining with Craig Morgan on Sunday, August 15th, Chris Young with Ingrid Andress on Tuesday, August 17th, and that's just the country lineup. They also have Sammy Hagar and the Circle, as well as George Thorogood with .38 Special. To me this type of lineup signals such a change for the state of Illinois, growing up in Illinois the grandstand lineup was always filled pop singers, rappers, rock bands, and then occasionally the country musician, but this lineup is soooo country music strong and forward. Illinois has always been a state that leaned more and more like California and New York, where the music scene was always more pop and top 40 focused, but maybe this is a sign that Illinois is joining the rest of the Midwest and moving more country.
