Columbia Man Killed in Macon County Traffic Crash

A Columbia man is dead from injuries suffered in a single vehicle crash on Highway 63 north of Excello in Macon County at 12:38 p.m. Tuesday.

The Highway Patrol reports 41 year old Nicholas Evans of Columbia was southbound when his box truck slid off the ice covered road and overturned, coming to rest on its top.

Evans was taken to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries. His passenger, 62 year old John Linder, also of Columbia, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Macon County Coroner.
