Missouri Public Service Commission members approve a variance for Ameren-Missouri to help customers deal with financial hardship from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The variance foregoes collection of late payment and reconnection fees to help customers affected by the pandemic. Ameren stated in their filing that they were seeking the variance to ease financial burdens resulting from changes in hours worked, shifts, job losses, sick leave and other impacts that may result from the COVID-19 emergency. Ameren Missouri requested that the variance be effective until the outbreak is waning. Ameren says they will provide at least a 15 day notice to affected customers before the fees are re-instated.
