The Quincy City Council has started the wheels in motion to gain a little financial breathing room.

Monday night the council unanimously approved resolutions to accept nearly $3-million dollars in federal grant money made available through the coronavirus relief bill.

This particular grant money can only be spent on expenses related to Quincy Regional Airport and Quincy Transit Lines.

This will free up general revenue funds to be spent elsewhere.

City officials are still expecting a nearly ten percent decrease in revenue from the projections on which the budget passed last month was based.
