Original Ghost Hunters Hear Voices in Old Joliet, Illinois Prison
It was like a dream team of paranormal investigators. The original Ghost Hunters teamed up with Destination Fear to investigate the old Joliet prison in Illinois and they encountered a lot of unexplained phenomena including voices.
Here's what Discover Plus said about this special combination of investigators who return to the Old Joliet Prison:
Renowned TAPS team members Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango, along with Shari DeBenedetti, reunite to revisit their most chilling cases and investigate disturbing new hauntings.
The teams share interesting backstories for the first half of the video, but it's about the 9 minute mark when they document what they saw and heard.
Jason and Steve began in the old hospital building while the Destination Fear guys head up to murderer's row. Right away in the hospital area, a voice is heard that didn't originate from the teams. In the upstairs area of murderer's row, all of the team members believe they see a light from under the floor and they set up a motion detector. They ask the entity they believe is present to touch the device to set it off, but instead they hear a loud slamming sound. CREEPY.
The official prison website talks about the horrid conditions that the prison became known for when it opened back in 1868. Within 10 years, it was filled way over capacity which made the experiences there even worse - as if prison itself wasn't bad enough. The prison was made famous by The Blues Brothers, but the non-movie reality was anything but glamorous.
