One Dead, Two Hurt in NEMO Weekend Traffic Crashes
A Monroe City man is dead from injuries suffered in a single vehicle crash on Marion County Route Z north of Monroe City at 9 p.m. Friday.
The Highway Patrol reports 30 year old Seth Hays was southbound when he failed to negotiate a curve, causing his SUV to run off the road, strike an embankment and overturn several times, ejecting Hays from the vehicle.
Hays was pronounced dead at the scene by Marion County Coroner Rick Jones.
Two Paris residents are hurt, one seriously, in a two vehicle crash on Highway 15 at Monroe County Route F north of Paris at 9:40 a.m. Saturday.
The Highway Patrol reports 19 year old Blake Lantz of Monroe City was eastbound, failed to stop at the stop sign and was struck by a southbound SUV, driven by 68 year old Ronald Turnbough of Paris.
A passenger in the Lantz vehicle, 17 year old James Smith of Paris, was taken to Moberly Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
A passenger in the Turnbough SUV, 66 year old Juanitta Turnbough, also of Paris, was taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries.
