What was and is a scene of tragedy Monday at a St. Louis school as a shooter killed 2 is now also a story of heroism. Multiple reports say that one of the 2 killed Monday was a Missouri teacher who saved many students lives while losing her own.

As we reported Monday, an active shooter was taken down by police at the Central Visual and Performing Arts High School at 3125 S Kingshighway Boulevard in St. Louis. I first saw someone share on the Missouri sub-Reddit that one of the lives lost Monday was Missouri teacher Jean Kuczka. KY3 in Springfield confirmed that Jean was a Missouri State student who was now teaching in St. Louis.

Fox 2 out of St. Louis gave details on Jean's selfless act of heroism.

Sadly, Jean Kuczka was only a couple years away from retirement according to friends and family. Her former students say she was there for them in the classroom and also beyond trying to help improve their lives. "She was passionate about making a difference in the lives of those she taught". She made the ultimate difference Monday by sacrificing her own life to save theirs.
