Missouri Man Just Caught a Massive World Record Carp

There are fish stories and there are fish realities. Fortunately for one Missouri man, this is that second one as he just landed a confirmed world record carp.

The Missouri Department of Conservation shared details on why it's good to be Matt Neuling of Perryville. Here's their announcement they made on their official Facebook page.

They shared some of Matt's happy words on their official website explaining how he landed this big carp.

I was out with my buddy early that morning when we both shot what we thought was a 30-pound grass carp,” Neuling recalled. “My buddy’s arrow pulled out, but mine shot straight through and stayed in there.

According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, the previous carp bow-fishing record was 104-pounds, 15-ounces. So, Matt didn't just beat that record, but he (and his bow) destroyed it.

Matt caught the fish in Lake Perry which is located south of St. Louis.

Congrats to Matt on his epic carp catch/shoot. That's quite a whopper of a fish by any measure.
