This came to mind as we happened across a website called spilsbury.com, where they have compiled a list of America's most popular board games, by state.

Board games have always been a go-to for an evening of fun, but especially in this COVID era, as families found themselves together a great deal more that ever, board games became an outlet to literally save the sanity of some families.

Plus the fact that it's an activity that doesn't involve having your nose buried in some kind of a video screen.

Looking at the state-by-state breakdown, some of the results are predictable.

Among the leaders was classic Monopoly preferred by eight states. Other picked by multiple states included Dungeons and Dragons, Backgammon, Chess, Codenames, Checkers and Trouble.

But, what about the Tri-States? What did board-gamers in Missouri, Illinois and Iowa pick as their faves?

Just so you know, Spilsbury went to Google Trends to see which board games had been searched for the most in the last year to reach their conclusions.

Iowa, along with Kentucky, picked Chinese Checkers.

Illinois, Massachusetts and Michigan preferred Mall Madness.

And, right behind Monopoly was Hungry Hungry Hippos, the choice of Missouri, along with Tennessee, Alabama, North and South Carolina and Maryland.

So what say you? What are your favorite board games?
