Wind Chill Warning, Winter Weather Advisory for the Area
Dangerous winter weather is the order of the day in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Warning for the area until noon Tuesday. Forecasters expect wind chills as low as 25 below zero.
Experts warn that cold wind chills on exposed skin could cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes.
There is also a Winter Weather Advisory for the area until 6 p.m. Monday, with an additional two to four inches of snow a possibility.
The weather services says you should plan on slippery road conditions, with areas of blowing snow causing significantly reduced visibility.
Information on road conditions can be found on MODOT's Traveler Information Map and on IDOT's Getting Around Illinois website.
