A website has decided what they believe are the 10 Most Charming Small Towns in Illinois, did Quincy make the list?
The website called purewow.com created a list of The 10 Most Charming Small Towns in Illinois, and the Gem City found a spot on the list. The article has Quincy listed as the 7th most charming small town in Illinois, behind towns like Galena, that took the number 1 spot, Woodstock, Princeton, Rockton and others. On the site they say this about Quincy...
"Take yourself on a driving tour of the city’s smattering of mid-century modern homes, or follow this guide to public art installations, which also includes tips on where to grab curbside food and drink as you go, so you can create your own combination art and pub crawl. "
The site also mentions that when you are in Quincy you are close to Mark Twain's hometown of Hannibal, and mentions there is plenty to do on a day trip to Hannibal as well. To see the full list of The Most Charming Small Towns in Illinois click here!
Charming according to dictionary.com means "pleasing or delightful" and I think if you go by that definition Quincy certainly can qualify as one of the most charming small towns in Illinois. There is something very pleasing about driving down Maine street towards the river, looking at all the unique homes, the families out on walks with their kids and pets, seeing all the unique shops and restaurants on the square, and of course the gorgeous views of the river are very delightful. Do you think Quincy deserves to be on this list?
