The process that ends in the naming of Hannibal's primary goodwill ambassadors has begun.

Seventh graders in the Hannibal Public School's and in the city's parochial school's are invited to be a part of the annual Tom and Becky contest. There will be an information meeting Tuesday, March 3 at the Hannibal Middle School for those interested in being the next Tom or Becky.

The process runs the young people through their paces, with tests, information and interviews leading to the naming of the official Tom and Beckys during National Tom Sawyer Days.

The contest recently came under the direction of the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum.
