This Hannibal Home Built in 1890 Was Originally a Farmhouse
I'm a fan of new, modern homes. But, when I see a home like this one in Hannibal, I like to imagine what it might have been like when it was built in 1890 as a farmhouse.
If you've driven by this home at 2617 Marsh Avenue in Hannibal, you might have wondered what it looks like on the inside. I can help with that. It's a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom home that still has some of the original character that reminds you of the farmhouse it used to be.
Hannibal Home Built in 1890 Was Originally a Farmhouse
This home caught my eye as I saw it shared on Facebook earlier today. Since I'm no real estate expert, here are some details from the agent shared on Realtor to give you more backstory and history:
Original farmhouse was built in 1890 and since then has been added on to modernize and add living space. This updated farmhouse sits on 1.66 acres m/l. So much to offer with large rooms, large lot, and great location! Main level has original hardwood floors that are in excellent condition...Under the original house is a classic 19th century fieldstone foundation.
The current asking price according to Realtor.com is $162,000. Even though I have virtually no farm skills that would have helped back in 1890, that monthly payment would sure be a heck of a lot less than the rent my family currently pays.
