There a house in the little town of Villisca that was the scene of a horrific mass murder over a hundred years ago, and experts say there are spirits that are still in residence in the home.

These days, as you might imagine, the current owners of the Villisca Ax Murder House, will be more than happy to have you come for a tour, a history lesson or even (!?!?) an overnight stay.

The website promoverreviews.com included this house on its 150 spookiest destinations in the United States.

From the outside, the Ax Murder House is nothing special. But, on June 10, 1912, an unknown intruder slaughtered Josiah Moore, his wife, their four children and two overnight guests while they slept.

The crime was never solved, and ever since, anyone who has lived in or just stayed in the house has at least felt the presence of the spirits of those who were killed that night.

Paranormal investigators say they have proof of paranormal activity in the house. Those who have toured the house have talked of hearing children's voices, falling lamps and flying objects.
