If you want to become a chef in the Show-Me State of Missouri then you may want to move to this city, and it's not St. Louis or Kansas City.

A website called lawnstarter.com has put together a ranking of the best cities in the United States for Aspiring Chefs and the top-rated city in the state of Missouri came as a surprise to me! You would imagine in a state like Missouri that has two big food towns like St. Louis and Kansas City that either of them (or both for that matter) would be top 30 cities for an aspiring chef, but no it is Springfield, Missouri that gets the highest ranking in the state!

You can see the list for yourself by clicking here, but Springfield comes in at number 31 on the list of 2021's Best Cities for Aspiring Chefs, it ranked right behind Long Beach, CA, and just ahead of Pheonix, AZ.  The cities were ranked on factors like access to culinary schools, job potential, cost of schools, and so on. Springfield is ahead of cities like Atlanta, New York, Las Vegas, and Houston, but it is behind some cities like Chicago ranked 19th, Miami ranked 1st, and San Fransisco ranked 3rd. Frankly, Springfield dominates in the state of Missouri, St. Louis is ranked 96th, and Kansas City is ranked 76th.

This is really something the city of Springfield, MO should be really proud of, and they should try to build off of it in my opinion. The food industry needs great chefs and if you can convince young aspiring chefs to choose Springfield over New York or Atlanta then that is a huge gain for Missouri as a whole.
