Ha Ha Tonka State Park

Missouri may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of castles, but it’s home to one of the eeriest in the nation.

This is one of my favorite parts of Missouri and it might even be at the top of the list. I'm talking about Ha Ha Tonka State Park and now thanks to explorers, you can see what it's like inside the famous castle and water tower ruins in this fascinating place.

I've heard a lot of stories of what people claim they've seen in the wilderness of Missouri, but never one quite like this. A man says that he encountered what he described as a Bigfoot-like creature that he says had a face like a sloth.

Missouri has some iconic places, but none of the more well-known destinations were named the best place to visit in the state in 2024. I'd guess that if I gave you a thousand guesses, you probably still wouldn't be able to name it. I wasn't either at it's a very unexpected recommendation, but not wrong.

No need to hop on a plane to see grand castles, there is one located in one of Misour's State Parks and you can visit.
