The Quincy Public Library has ceased operation until further notice.

Library officials announced Thursday they have furloughed staff due to the extended shelter in place order in effect at least through the end of April.

All library services will cease, including filling holds at lockers and online programs via social media.

Patrons can drop off books at the book drop at the library, but all other book drops have been closed.

Due dates on all materials have been extended and no fines or late fees will be levied at this time.

The library plans to resume normal operations when the shelter in place order is lifted.
