COVID-19 has officially taken the final big even off the 2020 calendar, as the Quincy Grand Prix has officially been canceled. We have been awaiting word from the event coordinators and it has been announced

On the Quincy Grand Prix Facebook page today they announced the cancellation saying...

"After much consideration we regret to inform you that the 2020 Quincy Grand Prix has been cancelled...The race was moved from its original date of June 13-14 to October 10-11 in hopes the Covid danger would have passed. The Grand Prix race committee felt in the best interest of safety for the spectators and competitors that the race should not be held. Unlike other karting events, the Quincy Grand Prix is spectator-driven and the logistics of trying to control the event and keep people safe while meeting state and local safety guidelines would be very difficult. The current situation with Covid-19 is obviously unfortunate and we must act with the best interests of not only our participants but also the City of Quincy, Park District and our sponsors in mind."

They go on to talk about how they have already scheduled the event for 2021 stating that the event will be taking place June 12th-13th of 2021. The Quincy Grand Prix was such a fantastic event last year making its amazing return to South Park, it is obviously disappointing that it is canceled this year, but I can't wait to enjoy the racing next Summer!
