After a warmer than normal weekend, forecasters call for an acceptable weather week for the latter part of January in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

According to the National Weather Service, the nice temperatures of the weekend will carry over to Martin Luther King Day Monday, with a high of 51 expected.

Highs will cool off a bit as the week progresses, sliding from 47 Tuesday to 38 Thursday, then bouncing back to the low to mid 40s Friday through Sunday.

Low temperatures for week will range from the upper 20s to low 30s.

As of Monday morning, the only precipitation in the forecast is a chance of rain and snow Sunday.
