Four are hurt, one seriously, in a two vehicle crash on Highway 61 north of Palmyra just before 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The Highway Patrol reports 18 year old Casey Hathaway of Palmyra was northbound on 61 when his truck crossed the median and collided head on with a southbound truck, driven by 55 year old Sue Downing of Hannibal.

Downing was taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy with serious injuries. Casey Hathaway and his two passengers, 54 year old Amy Hathaway and a 14 year old juvenile, also of Palmyra, were also taken to Blessing for treatment.

The juvenile suffered minor injuries. Casey and Amy Hathaway’s injuries were described as moderate.

 

A Canton woman escapes with minor injuries in a single vehicle crash on Highway 61 at LaGrange in Lewis County at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday.

The Highway Patrol reports 30 year old Ashleigh Otts was northbound when she lost control on the wet and icy road, causing her SUV to run off the road and impact the ground.

Otts was taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy for treatment.

 

A Loraine man escapes injury in a single vehicle crash on Highway 336 south of Highway 61 just after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office reports 50 year old Dale Holthouser was northbound on 336 when deteriorating road conditions caused him to lose control of his vehicle. His pickup glanced off a guardrail and overturned, coming to rest on its top in the median.

Holthouser was not hurt. No tickets were issued.

 

Four suffer minor injuries in three rollover crashes in less than an hour in Pike County, Illinois Tuesday afternoon.

The Illinois State Police reports 60 year old Philip Haxel of Quincy was eastbound on Interstate 72 at Milepost 2.5 just before 3 p.m. Tuesday. Haxel’s truck slid on the snow and ice covered bridge, spun 180 degrees, ran off the road and overturned.

Haxel and his passenger, 65 year old James Dyer, also of Quincy, suffered minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene.

 

There was another crash along that same stretch of I-72 at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, as 28 year old Ryan Meado of Quincy lost control of his truck on the snow and ice covered bridge. Meado’s truck rolled over an undetermined number of times before coming to rest on its top.

Meado and his passenger, 27 year old Thomas Frank of Quincy, also refused treatment for minor injuries at the scene.

 

There was also a rollover crash involving an ambulance on Highway 106 in Pike County around 3:20 p.m. The ambulance, driven by 21 year old Cody Ferrell of Barry was westbound, ran off the slick roadway and rolled over into a ditch. Neither Ferrell nor his passenger, 24 year old Craigery Hall, also of Barry, were hurt.
