You know ever since summer 2021 has started last week, I have spent a ton of time trying to find exciting things to do for myself and my friends that are within a couple hours drive of the Tri-States. I have found some really cool things like a fire breathing dragon in Illinois, or a diamond in the rough resort in Iowa, BUT I have just found something that is only 90 miles south of Hannibal, in Weldon Spring, Missouri and you couldn't PAY me to do it...

It's literally called the Nuclear Waste Adventure Trail, and that is not some sort of cleaver name, it is a trail that is built ON TOP of tons and tons of horrific things that can cause death. I found out about this Nuclear Waste Adventure Trail on this awesome website called onlyinyourstate.com (to see the article click here!) in the article they say...

"Just south of Weldon Spring, the largest explosives factory in America once stood and then was later occupied by a plant that refined uranium for Cold War nuclear bombs. Abandoned in the late 1960’s, by the 80’s, the EPA found a mess that they didn’t know what to do with. Full of 1.48 million cubic yards of PCBs, mercury, asbestos, TNT, radioactive uranium and radium, as well as contaminated sludge and rubble..."

So they build a giant 54 acre trail on top of this mound of death, and it is a rocky, gravel trail (to see the pictures click here) and apparently it is a big tourist attraction and lots of people use it for stargazing at night, and so on. Honestly this whole thing freaks me out, would you be willing to take a hike on this trail?
