I wouldn't say that any aspect of this news from a Missouri company is good, but at least it's not all bad. The state of Missouri has been notified of a mass furlough of 94 workers starting in March, but there is a silver lining to it all.

The state of Missouri Jobs site confirms that a company in Kennett plans to furlough up to 94 workers. It comes from Greenbrier Kennett located at 901 Industrial Drive in Kennett, Missouri.

Included in the WARN notice submitted by Greenbrier to the state of Missouri, it said the following:

"The employment action is expected to commence on or about March 24, 2026. The furlough is expected to last less than six (6) months. Affected employees may be furloughed in phases on or after March 24, 2026."

The "good" news aspect of this is that the furloughs are expected to last less than six months which translates into these workers being back in business by Fall. Greenbrier Kennett said that these furloughs needed to happen "due to current production requirements and business conditions beyond our control". Let's hope all of these workers end up in a much better situation once this furlough process is complete.
