Amazon Contract Company in Missouri Closes Without Warning
It appears that an Amazon delivery site in Missouri closed with almost no warning which has resulted in the layoff of all workers and the closure of the facility.
According to the Missouri Jobs site, a contract company for Amazon at this Hazelwood facility has closed down, but this is still an active delivery portal
The state of Missouri jobs authorities sent me the link to a letter submitted to the state by Chase Smiles Logistics. It states tersely that Amazon informed Chase Smiles Logistics on September 15, 2025 that their contract with the company would no longer be needed. They said that resulted in the following 5 things:
1. The date of the closing is September 15, 2025.
2. The closing is considered to be permanent. Chase Smiles Logistics does not anticipate reopening this facility.
3. All job titles will be affected by the closing.
4. The closing will result in an employment loss for all seventy-seven (77) employees of
Chase Smiles Logistics at this location.
5. No bumping rights exist for employees.
There has been some confusion which I hope to clear up thanks to audience feedback. Chase Smiles Logistics is located at 6201 Aviator Drive in Hazelwood. They were just one of several DSP's at that location. While Chase Smiles Logistics has closed down and let all of their drivers go, I have been made aware that this address is still very much an active delivery portal. It's just Chase Smiles Logistics that has closed.
The company stated that they could not give the required 60 day notice to the state of Missouri since they had no warning from Amazon of the abrupt contract termination. All layoffs are expected to be permanent.
