Have you ever road-tripped to Missouri Down Under Adventure Zoo in Van Buren, Missouri? I'm not too proud to admit that it was never on my radar until I came across an article on Only In Your State today that explained how kangaroo petting really is a thing there.

The official Missouri Down Under Adventure Zoo website says it's 1 mile west of Van Buren. While I admit it's a fun thought to pretend you're in the land of Crocodile Dundee, I do have some concerns. In one travel video that was shared by a visitor there, this kangaroo does not look particularly happy.

I decided to check out the reviews of this Missouri place on TripAdvisor and generally they're very good, so perhaps my concern is unwarranted. Whenever I see opportunities to see and/or interact with wild animals, I always ask myself if that's a good idea. I'm not passing judgment on a zoo that I've never visited. Only you can answer the question for yourself if you can pet a kangaroo in Missouri, should you?
