You Can Thank Illinois Restaurant for Inventing This Famous Food
I think if you live in Chicago you are the only residents in Illinois that are thankful for this unique food invention.
When it comes to hot dogs just grill it up and splash some mustard on it and I am good to go. However, those in Chicago have to spice things up with their hot dogs. The Chicgao-Style hot dog is the state's most famous food invention, but it's a unique taste that not everyone likes.
It's made with a beef sausage placed in a poppy seed bun and piled with mustard, onions, a pickle spear, sport peppers, slices of fresh tomato, and a sprinkle of celery salt. Why? Just why? Thanks to Fluky's who have claimed to have invented the weird (yes it's weird) hot dog. It was made during the Depression to feed those who couldn't afford much, and it has stayed with the Windy City since then.
Keep it Simple
Maybe people like to have a ton of toppings on their hot dogs, but I guess I am just a simple girl and don't need all that jazz. Also, not a fan of the all beef sausage hot dogs.

So no matter how you eat your hot dog or what toppings you like the Chicago-Style Hot Dog is not going anywhere anytime soon.
