Who's ready for floats, candy, music, and fun this weekend during the Dogwood Parade? There's so much more happening this weekend other then the parade, and it starts Thursday night. The weekend starts with the Little King and Queen of Dogwood Pageant at the Quincy Town Center's Fountain Court, starting at 7 pm.

Friday everyone is invited to the first of several Concerts in the Plaza located by the First Mid-Illinois Bank Plaza next to St. Boniface Church, located between 6th and 7th on Maine St. Enjoy lunch and music from 12 pm to 1:15 pm, this is free to attend so brings a blanket and a lawn chair. Going on at the same time is the Newcomer Mingle, where you can welcome all newcomers to the area. Later Friday night there will be a family-friendly block party at St. James Lutheran Church, time to still be determined.

Saturday is the day a lot of us have been waiting over a year for, a parade to celebrate our community after the year we have all had. It all kicks off with the official start to the Quincy Farmer's Market located in Washington Park starting at 8 am. The Dogwood Parade will kick off at 9:20 am on Maine Street, presented by Blessing Health System.

All times are subject to change so make sure you follow the Quincy Chamber on Facebook or on their website for all the updated information. Get ready to have fun this weekend, I think Mother Nature is going to be nice to us and give us sunshine and a beautiful weekend ahead.
