Help feed the hungry in town with by bringing food to donate to Golden Bridges during the Dogwood Parade!

The Dogwood Parade is a brilliant Quincy tradition that we are all extremely excited to get back to after having to miss the 2020 parade due to COVID-19. When you think about going to a parade you mainly think about bring empty backs to collect all the candy and free stuff that will be handed out during the parade. Well instead of bringing empty bags to the parade how about you bring some bags filled with nonperishable food items that you can donate during the parade!

That's right the Golden Bridges organization here in Quincy will be walking along the parade route collecting canned food goods alone the way! The parade of course starts at 9:20am tomorrow (May 1st) here in Quincy and goes down Maine street heading west from 24th all the way to 5th street. If you bring canned goods just keep an eye out for Golden Bridges and there recognizable vans to make sure you get them the food. The food that you donate during the parade will all go to support the Open Hands and the Horizon Food Pantries!

What a really great idea from our friends at Golden Bridges, yes the parade is all about having fun with the family and enjoying the opportunity to gather once again as a community, but if you can bring something canned or nonperishable to give back during the parade you'll be helping those who need it most in our town.
