An investigation leads to the arrest of a Hannibal man on drug and firearms charges.

Hannibal Police learned of an altercation Monday involving 41 year old Michael Fitzpatrick.

While no charges were filed in connection with the altercation, a search of Fitzpatrick’s vehicle revealed a significant amount of what was believed to be methamphetamine, a loaded firearm and items to suggest the sale of narcotics.

Fitzpatrick was taken into custody Tuesday at his home in the 1900 block of Chestnut.
He was charged Wednesday with trafficking drugs, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

Fitzpatrick is lodged in the Marion County Jail.
