A former Clark County clerk has reached a plea agreement in her theft case.

63-year-old Mary Jones will enter what’s known as an Alford plea to two counts of felony stealing. That means Jones maintains her innocence, but concedes that there is enough evidence to prove her guilty.

Jones is alleged to have stolen up to $12,000 during her time as Clark County Clerk between 2001 and 2013.

An audit of the clerk’s office revealed misappropriated court funds, missing money and missing receipt books.

Jones faces sentencing June 29 in Clark County Circuit Court.
