Florida Man Faces Multiple Pike County IL Traffic Charges
A Florida man is in the Pike County Jail on a variety of charges after an attempted traffic stop and brief chase Thursday.
Pike County, Illinois Sheriff David Greenwood reports deputies ran the registration of a van in Barry just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday and discovered the van had been reported stolen from Madison County, Illinois.
An attempted traffic stop resulted in a short pursuit and the arrest of 35 year old William Kochel of Key West, Florida.
Kochel is charged with aggravated fleeing and attempting to elude a peace officer, unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle, criminal damage to state supported property, driving while license revoked, reckless driving, two counts of disobeying a traffic control device, speeding and improper lane usage.
Kochel is lodged in the Pike County Jail in Pittsfield.
