Two Hannibal men face charges in connection with a shooting incident last Friday.

Hannibal Police were called to a report of shots fired at South Hayden and Willow Streets about 6:10 p.m. Friday.

As officers arrived on the scene, they observed a vehicle fleeing the area.
HPD caught up with the vehicle and made a traffic stop.

An investigation revealed that 33 year old Ted Kealen had been involved in a domestic disturbance in the 600 block of Willow, and that 54 year old Shawn Nichols had fired the gun in response to the domestic dispute.

Nichols was still in possession of the gun when police caught up with the two.
Nichols and Kealen were taken to the Marion County Jail.

Saturday, the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County charged Nichols with unlawful use of a weapon and Kealen with domestic assault.

The victim of the domestic assault suffered minor injuries. No one was hurt as a result of the gun fire.

Nichols posted bond and was released. Kealen remains in the Marion County Jail.
