An arrest has been made for the Monday attempted robbery at the Huck Finn Shopping Center.

A warrant for Hannibal resident Jon Otten was issued on April 5th for attempted robbery in the 1st degree and tampering with physical evidence. Otten was arrested on Monday when offices located him in the Huck Finn Shopping Center after an attempted robbery.

During the investigation, a pellet gun was located close to the business where the attempted robbery took place. Otten remains in the Marion County Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bond.

The Hannibal Police Department responded to a call at the 500 block of Huck Finn Shopping Center for an attempted robbery on Monday, April 4.

A male entered a business with a brandished firearm and demanded an employee place items from the store in a bag. When the employee refused the man ran off and witnesses provided a description of the male and offices began their search.

Within six minutes Hannibal officers were able to apprehend the male suspect and take him into custody. The male suspect was taken into custody and lodged at the Marion County Jail and placed on a twenty-four-hour hold pending formal charges.
