After Delays, Quincy Memorial Bridge to Close for Repairs Friday

After a couple of delays, the Quincy Memorial Bridge is now slated to close for repairs this Friday.

Officials with the Illinois Department of Transportation announced Monday the bridge that takes U.S. 24 eastbound across the Mississippi River will close for extensive maintenance April 23rd.

During the closure, there will be two-way traffic with a 14-foot maximum lane width on the normally westbound Bayview Bridge.

The Memorial Bridge facelift will include resurfacing of the bridge deck, joint replacement and repairs, and lighting replacement and repairs.

The bridge is expected to be closed until November 30th.
