The northbound on ramp on Highway 61 and 24 at the south end of Palmyra will be closed until further notice.

The Missouri Department of Transportation announced Monday the on ramp at the south interchange to Palmyra will be closed for emergency repairs.

Officials say it appears the bridge was hit recently and one of the girders on the bridge has been damaged.

Engineers will inspect the bridge to determine what repairs are necessary, but in the meantime, the ramp will remain closed.

If you’re coming out of Palmyra to the south interchange and you need to go northbound on 24 and 61, you will need to first go south then make a u-turn at the next crossover.
