A Missouri city tops the list of Favorite Places for the Holidays
Now is the time for making holiday travel plans, and one travel website put a Missouri town at the top of their Favorite U.S. Small Towns to Visit During the Holidays. Which city in Missouri made the list?
According to the travel website called travelawaits.com, Branson, Missouri is the top small town place in the US to travel to during the holidays. Branson tops the list ahead of other cities like Temecula (California), Frankenmuth (Michigan), Galena (Illinois), and Woodstock (Vermont). What about Branson makes it a hotspot for the holidays? On the site they say...
"In an effort to become “America’s Christmas Tree City,” Branson businesses are displaying more than 700 colorful, unique, and creative trees — and that’s not counting the 1,000-plus trees at Silver Dollar City! Head to the 1880s-style theme park for An Old Time Christmas celebration featuring 6.5 million twinkling lights and live holiday shows every day."
They also mention how when you are in Branson if you don't see a show then you aren't getting the full-on Branson experience! To read more about Branson being a holiday destination, and to see the complete list of small-town holiday destinations just click here!
I have not been to Branson during the holidays but so many people here in the Tri-States have told me that it is a magical getaway experience. Also, I would imagine that the climate in December in Southern Missouri is not nearly as bad as going up to Vermont or Michigan to enjoy some holiday festivities unless you love snow of course.
