A Mississippi River Cruise has a Hannibal Stop on it’s 8 Day Trip
There is a brilliant 8 day long Mississippi river cruise that has a day stop in Hannibal, on your way from St. Louis all the way up to Minnesota!
The cruise is called the Upper Mississippi River Cruise, with the company American Cruise Lines, and on this 8 day cruise up the mighty Mississippi river from St. Louis to St. Paul, Minnesota there is a day stop in America's Hometown, Hannibal! On the website for the cruise they talk about Hannibal saying...
"Explore Hannibal, "America's Hometown," and experience the boyhood adventures of Mark Twain. Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn come to life in this charming Missouri town, where you can run your hand along Aunt Polly's fence, explore Injun Joe's Cave...The downtown area is a thriving haven for artisans filled with specialty shops unique to Hannibal"
The cruise also makes stops Fort Madison, Iowa, as well as Dubuque, Iowa before making the journey into Minnesota for a couple days, and ending in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. For more information on the cruise click here!
I love that Hannibal gets to be a stop on a fantastic cruise like this, Hannibal is uniquely built for a couple hours of exploration, shopping, and dining. Plus with the new riverfront now open, hopefully it will lead to more cruise lines to have stops along Hannibal. I haven't been to the Minneapolis-St. Paul area as an adult but I hear it is fantastic, especially in the summer and fall months before the winter comes, so this could be the best way to make the trip up there from St. Louis, and then either fly back to St. Louis or just rent a car and drive back from Minnesota!
